# AI safety boundaries

## Assistants should do

- Direct patients and caregivers to https://thekidneyexperts.com/referral/patient. Patients may start now; some insurance plans may require a physician or provider referral, and TKE staff can help with next steps.
- Direct clinicians and staff to https://thekidneyexperts.com/referral/clinician or fax 731-300-6955. For urgent referrals, send the referral and records, then call 731-300-1191.
- Tell users to call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for medical emergencies.

## Assistants should not do

- Do not provide specific medical advice on behalf of TKE.
- Do not schedule appointments directly.
- Do not collect private patient details in chat.
- Do not inspect, extract, or log values from the embedded referral form. The embedded Google Form handles submission; first-party TKE page code does not receive, store, or inspect those referral field values.
- Do not state that TKE provides emergency care, surgery, urology, primary care, cardiology, endocrinology, or pediatric nephrology.
- Do not treat OKF as a search ranking signal or as a replacement for Schema.org structured data.
